The Neotech Tux Strap - only available in black - is an excellent solution for when you don't really want to wear a bulky strap on your gig, or when you want a neckstrap that might not take up a lot of real estate in your case. Like many other Neotech strap models, this one is a little bit stretchy, so it often feels like the weight of the horn is displaced, and your back and neck will probably feel a lot better in the process. This is such a simple strap, but it provides a lot of good solutions.
Looking for a thinner neckstrap that still provides good support on your gig? This is it.
If you're looking to buy one for yourself, you can get one right here.
Make sure when looking at Neotech straps to look at all of the options concerning clasps. They sometimes have a few different options per strap.
One of the smallest Neck Straps you can buy
This is also a great strap if you're looking to hide a strap so you don't look out of place on your gig. Hear me out.
Let's say you're wearing a really nice tuxedo on your party band gig. Black and White only. Firstly, it's black- so we got that out of the way. Secondly, it's small enough and thin enough that you can likely tuck it in under your shirt collar, where it likely won't be seen, or at least it won't draw a lot of attention to you. "Why is that guy wearing that bright red strap with that nice tux?" I don't often feel like I need to do that on my gigs, but I've definitely been there once or twice before.
Also, getting back to the real estate comment above: This really takes up practically no space in your case. In a couple of my cases, this fit pretty well even in the slot for the mouthpiece. No kidding. It just doesn't take up the space that many neck straps take up. It's not overly wide. It doesn't have a huge clasp. It's small, and it gets the job done.
It should be noted that this only comes in an open hook variant, so if you like a closing clasp, this may not be the strap for you.
Want my thoughts?
During the tour (probably a couple times per leg), we end up doing a radio station gig or some sort of similar meet and greet thing. In this occasion, it's often hard to move my giant flight case away from the venue where the big show will take place that evening, so I have to think about packing small. Instead of taking my harness, I always take this Tux Strap instead. It's so much easier to move and takes up so little space. It just makes sense for those kinds of gigs for me.
Why Neotech?
Based in Belgrade, Montana, Neotech has been making products for the music industry since 1986.
Being one of the most comfortable straps to wear for musicians, Neotech strives to change the way we play our instruments by making everything easier. Their website says when talking about the materials they use: "This results in the instrument feeling up to 50% lighter and 100% more comfortable", and as a user of Neotech products since 1997, I'd have to agree.
They also offer a lot of configurable options for each of their straps so that you can feel the most comfortable while using their products.
As well, they've got some of the best customer support that I've experienced in the industry. The company is also constantly looking to develop great new products, or modify existing products for best results.
